Live 2/5. Just sat down and don't know most of the players. 2 limps, I raise 109 on the button to 30. Both limpers call.

Flop: 4 6 7 Checked through. (Pot 90)

Turn: 10 MP bets 80, I flat other player folds (Pot 250)

River: 9 . Other player jams 300 into 250. Hero?

No reads. Turn bet was huge but I feel like I have to call since he has some bluffs. Not sure if he'll play a set like this, if he doesn't then the only hand that realistically beats me is 89 though T8 is possible.

Bluffs include possible 5's and flush draws. And both might bluff the river sometimes.

Against an unknown, what are you doing?

I can find a fold here with seeing as how I have very minimal investment and the run-out is less than ideal to call...even with top two. There are a few combo draws with a heart and an 8 in them that could have easily gotten there on the river. Smile. Fold. Move on.

Definitely folding. If he's bluffing, good for him.

Also, I probably would have c-bet the flop. You have a gutshot to the nuts and can get value from a 5.

Yeah I'm folding here, I think you'll find better places to take their money - especially if you've just sat down and don't have a good handle on how he is playing.

I'm cool with calling here. I don't expect hands like 78/68s to be potting turn; plenty of FD's that brick. Board doesn't really hit us and we're kinda under-repped so doesn't make a load of sense for V to ship for value vs us.

OTT it looks like a good steal spot from V as we (the pfr) have checked back flop, board is low and connected and other player has checked turn.

i think this is a fairly easy call
if villain shows you better, you just take a note and move on

our calling range on turn seems alot like broadways flush draws after we've checked back on flop, occasionally we have 10x

any player who notices your range to have 10x/flushdraw on turn will most likely take a line that tries to extract the most value out of your hand if they have better than 10x
if villain thinks you leans more toward a missed fd, his most likely action would be x/c
if villain thinks you can make crying calls with 10x, his most likely action would be a small bet, hoping you make random bluff raises or making crying calls with 10x etc.

therefore with such logic, villain shipping on this river towards your range seems to be heavily weighted with bluffs
sure he can show up with sets, st8s etc. and etc., but if you call and he does show up with such hand, it shows you that villain is either totally mindless player who only looks at his holecard and bet bet bet....or is a level on top you, making overbet ship to look weak, but this is like super rare

either way, there's no way we are folding
in order for us to fold, we need to know that villain is atrocious and has no clue what he is doing, which is rare, what are the odds of some random player you run into on 2/5 is super bad, maybe 1/9-2/9 of the chances? or less? or maybe somewhat more

Think it’s a call, he’s massively polarizing his range to just straights and airballs when he overbet jams, he’s not vbetting thin with a set here almost ever.

We block 98s, 5x/hearts brick, he could have even a total airball here since your flop check looks weak.

Flop and turn good

I’d fold turn as most players with hands like 88/55 are more likely to C/C instead of betting large. Also behind better TX hands, of which there are many combos.

As played, I tend to give credit when readless … fold since a 4-liner to a straight hit. In my experience most players aren’t over valuing AT/76, in fact some may check sets.
