Live 1/3. Hero has a stack of 650, Villain has a stack of 250ish

Folds to hero on the button with Jh 10h. Hero raises to 13. Villain is older gentleman in the 60s in the SB who flat calls. BB (loose aggressive) also calls.

Flop is Ah 9d 6h. Villain hesitates and checks. BB checks. Hero checks.

Turn Qh. Villain bets 15. BB calls 15. Hero raises to 60. Villain calls. BB folds.

River 9s. Villain jams ~160. Hero??

Flop I would normally bet however, villain hesitating makes me believe that he flopped an ace and definitely wouldn't fold to a bet. Thus, I decided to take a free card rather than inflating the pot when I'm behind. Turn, I decided to raise to avoid the prospect of another heart peeling off and killing my action. River, no idea what to do. The fact that he is older makes me believe that he is just a typical OMC who is nutted in this spot although folding here feels exploitable. Opinions?

Without reads on the guy, as played, I think you are beat. If villain had an A he doesn't jam here, nor trips. He's polarized to pocket 6s, A9 or some sort of air (KhQc?) that perhaps missed the bd flush draw.

He has to have A9/96. So do the logical thing and call. It's a cooler is all. He can have lesser flushes, or a good A that spazzes on river after 4th heart blanked.

I might raise slightly smaller (less risk to win the blinds). The more I realize the affect of rake on the game, the more I'm thinking that simply open limping might be perfectly fine too. But for metagame purposes (where we don't want to be known as the nit who only raises TT+/AQ+) then raising is probably fine for this reason alone.

Isn't this a great flop to cbet 3ways? If no one has an A (which with only 2 opponents is very likely) then it's going to be hard to call a flop cbet. And if anyone calls, whatever, it probably buys us a free card where we can get to the river. I'd bet a 1/2 PSB (giving us good 3:1 odds that will usually get us to the river to chase our flush draw) and see what happens. About the only time I wouldn't cbet here if I was up against a very aggressive player who realizes I could easily be opening the Button very wide. (ok, I read our read on the hesitate check, so I guess I can't hate as much)

I'm also raising the flop bet/call. I'm looking to play for stacks against the shorter stack.

Any reads / HHs against this guy? This probably is more nuttish than anything, but sometimes old guys do really stupid things. Looks like we're getting about 2:1. Really read dependent, but against an unknown I'm leaning towards a crying call.
