Hi All, would appreciate feedback on the following hand:

3 limpers, I raise 15 with JJ on the button, 1 caller from EP. Flop Ac Jh Tc, he checks I bet 24 he calls. Turn 9c, he check shoves for 101 more after I bet 45.

So I'm getting a little less than 3:1 on a call, 10 outs to hit the river if I'm behind to a straight or flush.

Unfortunately no real reads on the guy, it was early in the session. He was in his late thirties or mid forties.....that's all I've got.

Obviously a flush, straight, also some 2 pairs and top pair + FD in his range. What would you do? Thanks!

Snap call

If you believe two pair and 1 pair + draw hands are in his range, it is a snippity-snap call.

Do you have Jc?

Call. I'm all for thin value but generally when the obvious flush comes in AND villain is unlikely to call turn and river with worse then turn is a check.

My memory is failing me at the moment, but I believe that I did not have the Jc . If have the Jc then definitely a snip snap call I'm guessing? I appreciate all the replies in this and the other thread!

I would get out of the habit of folding any set for less then 150bb or so.

Even if the guy turned over the nut flush it's almost a call, so definitely it's a call against a random opponent who could have far worse.

I had 8cJc. Good fold.

Spoiler:
Just kidding.

The turn bet is way thinner than u think... When he check shoves, he has a flush 100%..poker stove and act accordingly

Puke you should have checked behind because now there are 3 to a straight, 3 to a flush...at worst expect to see a straight as played.

imo saying check back ott given SPR <2 is pretty results oriented. He's got plenty of 2 pair & pair+draw hands here, and we hate half the deck on the river. Why can't Villain check shove with QcTx, for example? Having the Ac (and Tc9c) on the board also reduces the number of flushes in Villain's range. Betting turn is obv higher variance, but it seems like there's still plenty of value to be had here.

He's saying they don't ALWAYS have the flush. But that's the exception that proves the rule. Maybe not 100%, but 98% it's the flush.

Oh OK maybe 98%, but it gets really expensive really quickly to start looking for that 2%

Folding isn't an option given stack sizes and money invested having a set
