Was playing at the table for 4 hours and i my table image is a tight players (players calling me a nit) at an extremely aggressive table that is 3 betting pre wide and lots of gambling all ins by others and with button straddles every 3rd hand
2/3$ table with slandered preflop raise size to 15-20$
Hero starts hand with $600
V1 reg plays full time and is a tight aggressive player against the other regs and Has me stacked
I open in Co with T9o to $15 Small blind and button looked uninterested and bigblind folded out of turn V1 calls
($35) Th,5c,6h i bet $20 V calls
($75) Th,5c,6h,Jc i bet $35 sb raise to $150 I fold puting him on nothing and just trying to bully a new player but could have sets or strong draws
Did i make the right fold?

Not the worst open but still, fold pre. Given your described image, don’t know why anyone would be getting out of line vs you here.

As played, you’re cooked. Let it go.

Not much I can say besides that in a table where there is a 3bet evry hand and struddle I wouldn't open that hand... I understand your tight immage but instead of using it to open use it for a bluff when u miss ak or a draw...

fold pre

x/c turn but as played you need to bet bigger 35 is way to small on a draw heavy board

your biggest mistake in this hand is preflop

fold turn

if the table is super aggressive keep our range tight so we have easier post flop decisions and look to 3 bet a little lighter in position

You guys read the spiel about preflop? Button and SB look like they're not interested and BB folds out of turn, obviously you raise there. Go a bit smaller though (with your whole range), $12 should be fine.

Check back the turn, your hand is not good enough to go for value. You can snap off river bluffs. SB likely had JT. You're probably not getting checkraised bluffed when you're getting called a nit.

V is anything but TAG playing 64o in the BB and maybe not even a winning player. Good players would do this to get more action against you when they have it, but he may be dumb enough to keep stroking his ego and bully you around. I would pay no attention to him showing and continue playing your game, I like the open pre with disinterested dead money. Observations like that will take you far in this game. Hand is well played

Yeah I don't mind the live read play either but opening 5x is still risking a bit much just to pick up dead money, I'd rather see 3.5x

Probably just to generally annoy you.

Just check back the turn and you can snap this guy off on the river. There's no reason to bet the turn, what are you trying to get value from? You might say "I'm trying to charge draws" but if you check and a draw misses, they'll generally bluff the river anyway.

In general when you bet, have a clear idea why you're betting. In a heads-up pot, it's unusual that you want to bet unless a) you're bluffing or b) you're looking for value from worse made hands.

Some people will also show bluffs just to show everyone how much of a genius they are. So he could also be doing it because he is proud of himself.

It’s possible he could be doing it to get more action, but you can’t know that for sure.

He thinks your a nit and could call any two pre and take you off it post ( i used to do this when i was younger), just keep his sizing in mind the next time you get into a hand as the turn sizing is extremely polarized. If someone did this to me id tell them "sick value bet", so they thought they had the best hand.
