Line check Top 2 on flop - 1/2

Hello everyone, thank you for taking a look.

Hero (MP) - 200 playing TAG, just reloaded after loosing. Table image is good even after taking a loss.

Villian (UTG+1) - 300 seems like a player who is still learning the game. watched him struggle over a few decisions in which he wasn't sure what he was doing or why he was doing it. He called a 36 preflop 3 bet with A9 with 3 players behind him while his stack was 250 and the 3 bettors stack was 130.

The rest of the eff. stacks are around 120. UTG+1 makes it 10 and I call in MP with AJ along with 3 others.

Flop is (50) AJ8 Villian leads out for 20, I raise to 60. Everyone else folds and he jams for 270. Hero?

snap calls

Missed that v was pfr at first. So his range is AK, AJ, AA, JJ, and possibly spade Broadways (kqss/kjss). Described v probably doesn't raise 88 but even if he does its a call.

Snap call. He has A8, AK, AJ or a draw a lot more often than he flopped a set.

Call now this is about the best flop you can get. Fold pre. Why are you calling with this garbage? Gap principle.

Think that's a bit harsh given we know nothing about vils pfr range. If he raises extremely tight especially UTG then folding could be correct but as a default I would definitely call.

Flat pre is fine IMO.

Snap call this, not getting a much better flop (if you think about folding here, don't play AJ pre). If he has a set just rebuy.

Ajo should be at bottom of raiser's range so I'd fold pre unless I knew he was playing a massive vpip. There is no read given that this is the case.

However If he is playing a high vpip should we raise to isolate or call?

Just as an aside OP, you don't have a good image if you just got stacked. I don't care you if you got 1 outed, most of your villains are thinking you're a loser because you lost and rebought in.

Pf is a raise or fold. I'd rather raise against this villain to isolate than call. The reason to raise is that he called a 3 bet with A9s. A call means you have to outflop people, which is hard to do with AJo. Also, we're in MP and in LLSNL it means that we're likely to get a couple of other callers which means we can't "out play" them all. Somebody will have something if we miss. With a bad image, I'd lean towards folding.

As played, you own the ace and have top two pair. Snap call.

Easy snap call here and smile when he turns over AK.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ THIS ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

AJo and KQo need to go into the muck. They're not much better suited.
