New table just started in a 1/2-100 spread limit game (all games are max $100 bet here in Colorado). This is the first hand. I bought in for $200, villain bought in for $300. Villain is a non-descript mid-30s looking regular dude.

As I said, this is the first hand at the table.

Dealt to hero
**

Preflop (Pot:3)
seat 3****CALL
villian****RAISE $10
hero****CALL
seat 9****FOLD
seat 1****FOLD
seat 2****FOLD
seat 3****FOLD

Flop(Pot: $25)
***

villian****BET $15
hero****CALL

Turn(Pot: $55)
****

villian****BET $35
hero****CALL

River(Pot: $125)
*****

villian****BET $100
hero****CALL

I can make case on raising pre, flop, and/or turn, but I have found that I tend to be a bit more passive when first sitting down at a new table, especially, when starting a new game at a table. Then again, there is literally zero information other than what folks bought in for and how they look.

Opinions and line check welcome.

I also fold pre but I doubt that will be to popular.

First hand I assume QQ+. If he's bluffing he'll probably show. Baring any live reads I fold river this time.

I can't tell your positions, but your standard should be to fold AJo pre-flop to a raise.

Post-flop calling down the brick runout is probably good/standard. Positions would help.

The HH reads like you are HJ and villain is LJ. Pre-flop is an easy fold. Flop, turn and river are all pretty clear calls.

I missed that Seat 3 is a limper, not BB. I'd still probably fold. AJo just isn't a great hand to cold-call raises with. Suited broadways, Suited connectors, pocket pairs and AQo+ are all better.

We should not be folding the top of our range on the river. We're going to lose a good chunk of the time, but expect worse Jx/bluffs often enough to call.

With a better read on the situation fold, call and raise are all possible preflop. Against an unknown opponent just fold AJo preflop.

After that call flop, call turn and evaluate river. Board is dry and raising just gets villain off his worse hands. Villain betting bigger percent of pot on every street favors value over a bluff but it's a live read situation.
