Just sat at the table, $450 eff stack Villain has me covered, no reads other than Indian Male late 20s/early 30s

Dealt TT in the CO, I open to $15. Villain 3B to $60 from the SB, we call.

Flop is 972r. V checks, Hero bets $60 (check back?) V calls

Turn 4. Villain leads $100 (what to do?)

This is close on flop. If I'm peeling pre in position with other smaller pairs, and some of my best SCs I'm definitely just checking those all back and trying not to bloat the pot further. With hands as strong as TT/JJ, we can check back sometimes, or we can bet sometimes. QQ+ we will probably just be 4b pre so its nice to have some of those bigger pairs in our check back range to protect it.

For the next street, its important to know if the turn brought any back door flush draws as well, fyi, so noting the suit is sort of important to working through ranges by the time we get to the river.

As played, I'm not ready to fold just yet to this V's line. I am peeling the turn lead. It's especially important early in session to try to develop some reads and understand some of our Vs tendencies. Many people like to advocate for "if we call this turn, we have to call the river, so I'm not calling this turn". I don't think that is the correct way to look at the spot here tho. We are still playing poker street by street. Any other baseline assumptions you are good at making against villain types, and also vice versa (baseline assumptions you might be able to make about your own image) can help when we arrive at the river and face 1) a check, or 2) a bet.

Often times, those sticky sort of Vs who take odd lines are very willing to "1 and done" their bluff range, and will check rivers. For all we know, this guy is a complete fish/whale as well, and those sorts of players loooooove to do odd things. The river can come favorable for our pair, and we face another bet, and we can evaluate all our still incomplete info and face this decision again on the river. Live tells, and river bet sizing can also help us to make our decision. (Facing a full pot bet on river we have to be right a higher % of the time, vs facing smaller bets, etc).

Also, sometimes we just bink a T and have the easiest decision ever on the river.
