As is often the case in low limit games, we often find ourselves completing our SB or checking our option and then being faced with a top pair so so kicker with the field behind us.

If there is only one limp I usually consider my relative hand strength to be greater. But the more people I have to lead into the more unsure I feel about what to lead with because I will inevitably get action from a wide range of hands making it harder to range them.

A few examples:

You have Js8c in sb and complete over on limper

Flop 854hh

How would this change if there were several limpers?

What if we had 78hh and the flop was 826cc?

I find these spots a little dicey when I am sort of forced to play OOP.

Can anyone clarify a strategy in these spots?

The more multiway a pot goes the less we played our hand to just flop TP. The pot is also really small and meaningless at this point and not worth fighting over, especially when we can get in so many crap spots on later streets OOP with our mediocre hand. So I would often just check and evaluate (who is doing the betting, from where, for how much, whether anyone else decided to come along, etc.) and mostly lean to the very small error of overfolding here.

Bet/folding small and then evaluating ain't a terrible line either, especially if our opponents are very ABC straightforward / the less multiway it goes. If it hasn't gone very multiway and our opponent likes to stab at the flop and then give up UI, a tarpy check/call isn't bad either.

Kinda lots of options, but overall mostly leaning to keeping the pot small, not getting too involved, and erring towards folding easy if we don't like the way things are shaping up.

I've convinced myself not to complete my an with anything worse than a small pp. Anything else is raise or fold.

My default is that I have no leading range. But if there's a big calling station fish in the pot then I will lead the top of my range with big sizings.
