As far as this hand, I think my biggest mistake was limping pre. Post-flop, not sure if it would have played out differently though. Probably still getting screwed otr and folding (as I did). I said "nice flush" afterwards and he said he didn't have a flush and I didn't have a T. BB claimed he had Ad.... Who knows. Maybe he spazzed.
I don’t think you’re a complete idiot. I play hands terribly all the time. Sometimes I make plays that are really dumb that some players on here rightly roast, and sometimes I do things that I think are really tricky and difficult for V’s to understand, that players on here would say is bad FPS.
I agree with you that not raising pre is your biggest mistake here. This is a good hand to be aggressive on the button with. If you get 3! pre, just pitch it. Easy. No big loss. If you expand your betting range from the best positions eventually people will start 3!ing you when you have huge hands, which is obviously ideal.
If you raise pre, I’m pretty certain that the flop gets checked to you, so it does change the hand quite a bit. I’m guessing most on here would bet at that point, but I personally would probably check back on the button there with this hand, trying to get to showdown, and also with backdoor flushdraw equity. There’s actually not too many terrible turns in that situation and you could easily call a turn bet on almost any card in that spot, except for maybe the Jack or Queen of diamonds.
Thanks for posting and again, apologies for being a ****.
