KQo 2nd pair nfd

3-5 spread, 600 max bet, 7 handed, 1600 effective. Villain sat with max of 2K and has been splashy but nothing excessive.

Hero in sb with KdQc

Pre: Villain straddles 10 UTG. Folds to hero who opens 40, bb folds, V calls

Flop (85) : AdKh6d
Hero 35, V calls

Turn (155) : 7d
Hero..

c/c.
Its tempting to use your blocker, but I guess youd have to c/r to get him to fold an ace and not just barrell, so I dont see the point. You got enough equity to c/c, see a river and decide.

Check and evaluate. With the obvious plan of calling any reasonable bet.

Your not going to get any better hands to fold for a reasonable bet. If you bet pot or try to check/raise you run the risk that villain does have a flush, set or two pair. If you do have the best hand villain is not likely to put much more money in.

Once I cbet flop and pick up equity OTT I’m firing another barrel. Depending on live reads likely firing river as well on a lot of run outs.

I have a huge range advantage vs a wide defending range, so betting this flop with range for small sizing makes sense to me. If I were to have checks this is a good one to check with. Maybe better choices would be weak kings and QQ

Re: KQo 2nd pair nfd

It only makes sense if you would bet 35 if you had an ace and the villain knows you would do that. Otherwise, you've said you don't have a lot of confidence in your hand. You have some showdown value, so I'm happy if he decides to float with a non-ace. I'd bet more like 55. If he's going to float, he isn't going to call 35 and fold 55.

As played, bet 100 as if you hit the flush. It will be plausible to the villain that you are a weak player that is betting your hand strength.

I think we should be betting small here with almost our entire range. It sounds like you are suggesting that the Hero should bet different sizes based on their hand strength with is incorrect. OOP with a range advantage there is no reason to bet any larger.
