Game is 1/2 nine handed. Villain sat down 15 mins ago and has been raising pretty often preflop. We played a hand where he raised preflop to 10 from CO, I raised to 30 with AKo from BB. We both check on 226hh flop. Turn is Kh. I bet 30, Villain raises to 105, I call. River 7h goes check-check. Villain shows Q2dd and scoops, I mucked and didn't have to show.
So Villain seems to be playing pretty loose-aggressive and perhaps tricky, given that he can check back trips in a 3-bet pot.
OTTH
Villain raises to 10 on CO, I raise to 30 with KK from the BB (cannot remember the suits)
Flop (61) Q
J
7
I bet 40, Villain calls
Turn (141) 9
I check, Villain checks
River (141) 9
I check, Villain bets 110, I..?
I don't know whether this hand might appear standard on paper vs at the table but my thought process was that I block his KQ combinations, if he had a Queen, maybe he bets it on the turn, and also a 100+ bet size at 1/2 is considered very strong. Interested to hear your thoughts, thanks.
