Hi all,

1/3. Hero just sat down with a satchel of chips, plopped a few black ones onto the table. Only showdown prior: super shorty rips UTG+1 $18, folds to hero otb, min-clicks with QJo, wins v. QTo.

One unknown young Asian V limps MP, hero KdKs CO isos $18, SB calls, limper calls. $300 eff.

Flop ($50): J-9-5r. Hero $35, both call.

Turn ($120): 3d, bdfd. V donks $75, hero tank calls, SB tank folds.

River: ($270): 7s. V jams $180 eff. Hero?

Thanks,
DT

Edit: 8s changed to 7s otr.

Weird line by V. Can he have top fair to go with the flush draw?

QJo hand seems bad.

As played, readless, river is a snap call (although knowing we’ll lose to something goofy a decent bit).

Pot's laying 5:2; we only need to be good 28% of the time to be profitable, and villain's line is bizarre. Call.

Pot should be $155 on the turn / $305 on the river ($35 three ways OTF is $105+50).

I think I'd rather just jam the turn. V's line stinks to high heaven, why wouldn't they just x/r the flop? And why would they half pot the turn? This is just bizarre. I understand not wanting to blow the SB out of the pot but I think that ship's already sailed at this point, there's too much out there at the point we're deciding ($230 in the middle, $250 in our stack before we call the $75).

AP on river I call fairly quickly, bdfd didn't get there and V can still be going ham with AJ.

Perhaps not but he can have T8s for sd/fd.

Are you raising this turn? I think I am. Board is too wet to call 3 way and 300 eff.

I would just jam the turn. Why is the river even a decision point?

You can fold weaker Js, missed flush draws, missed straight draws. You can definitely have some sets, but I think we have to call all our overpairs. Villains can have combo draws with J or just AJ imo. Yes, sometimes we get stacked, but that’s poker folks.

Agree with everyone, calling here in this spot. Too strong to fold on this board.

Snap call. He can be playing AJ/55 the same way and there's 4x as many combos as AJ. Turn should be a snap as well -- are you tanking to hollywood?

It would be nice to know which card was a on the flop. That might help with making the best turn decision. I suppose 55 could play that way, but generally guys who slowplay sets on the flop are going to try and checkraise the turn on a blank. The donk to me is more of a top pairish kind of hand, or maybe J9? I probably just jam the turn here.

AP I can't fold to V's line. Too strange.
