New to table bought in for $220 and this was the first hand I played.

V1 UTG $600 - I saw him play real wild in 1 hand that I witnessed after just sitting down. He check raised a A45 rainbow board with A8 vs V2 who called.

He than jams the turn which was a T and V2 called it off with QQ. V1 thought he lost for sure until V2 turned over QQ and raked in a $300 pot.

V2 UTG+2 just re bought for $100 and seems to be pretty bad.

Seemed like a ship based on how he played that A8 hand and looks like he wants to draw for cheap - any one have any other options?

Shoving turn is fine. Maybe not against him but against most players you can call turn and safely fold blanks despite getting great odds. And obviously shove blanks if checked to

This should be a concerned Jx or a paired and/or flush draw 8x enough to make this a shove IMO.

I like a shove here also, he could be betting out Jx here or a pair + FD type hand which you are ahead of. If he has 34 or 2 pair it sucks but if you are against 2 pair you do have several outs at your disposal.

Pretty sure if you lost the and you were shown 67, 89, 45, 78 or some other SC type hand that improves on the turn. Calling with most of those on the flop would be pretty bad without soem clubs to go along with it.

But then again, we've no reason to think this guy is good so I dunno.
But by shoving we are essentially risking $170 to win $262.
Seems like a good price to stick it in here.

Didn't think I had any other options. If he had a set / 2 pair or straight than good for him.

I was pretty happy with it, but I think 30%-40% of the time he has me beat here.
