Hi all,

0.25/0.50 NL home game. Hero is TAG, V1 is TAG, V2 is TAG-nitty, V3 whale. Hero has $80, V1 $35, V3 $45, V2 covers. Playing 6-handed.

V1 raises UTG $3.75 (on the larger size), hero flats KK MP1. Whale calls, V2 (BB) 3! $10.25. V1 jams $35. Hero?

This kinda felt like the main event bubble hand to be honest.

Thanks,
DT

There's probably some slight +EV in calling off here. Your equity against AKo, AQs+, JJ+ is something like 40% 3 ways. Though I'm not sure how much AQ/JJ you'd see in this spot. Also, the whale has yet to act right?

In a casino, at normal stakes, against unknowns I'd probably just let it go. In a cheaper home game like this though, the dynamics are totally different. Against the ranges I see in these type of games, you have to go broke with KK here.

Well I felt given player types (tight/nitty) and positions (UTG and BB), this was a rare KK fold, even in a home game. (Certainly in a casino for 150+ BB.)

Results:

whale called with K2dd....

BB called with AA.

UTG had QQ.

Flop: K-3-5d.

Turn: 4d.

River: 6d.

K2dd scoops.

The ME has been running for decades, and 15 years post poker boom. You only saw something like THE ME hand recently for a reason, it doesn't happen that often, and no one played it as bad as some 2+2 pros say.
3b, jam. EZ

sorry you lost, but not getting away
