Don't feel bad, I fell for it too and it cost me 500$.. No I didn't have much history with him, but I had seen him play a bit.

Reading carefully will show that I qualified the statement. Folding rivers in general is a good idea. Folding in this situation maybe not.

Raise to 90-95 pre. Shovel it in over two streets. Your sizing made the hand much tougher.

AP, river is a call. You're underrepped, if something stupid got there, so be it.

Interesting little hand.

Not against the raise sizing vs BTN since he doesn't rate to have much. I think the big mistake is not bet/folding the turn. If you lead out on the turn and got raised its just a fold. If you lead and he just calls you're most likely ahead.

In regards to the verbal tell. Once he speaks out and calls its def a sign of confidence but would be very unusual to have a bonecrusher/be telling the truth, regardless of what he says. If he asks "Do you have Aces?", I'd go out on a limb and say 95% of the time he doesn't have JJ/QQ/Tx, more weighted towards draws (no brainer once results are posted) but reading the OP my first thought was spade draw.

I agree with bet/folding turn now, if I had put him on a wider range like I should have it's what I would have done, it's easily the best play OTT... But I learned a lot thru this hand, it will definitely improve my game.
