Early morning at the Borgata. Table has been going all night. I've been playing pretty tag, but played a bit too much out of position. Big preflop raises been going multi way all night, lots of action at the table tons of money flying around. MP+1 has a monster stack and has been playing it well. HJ stuck quite a bit and has almost left a few times, bought in again recently and doubled up while I was in the bathroom, seems to over value pairs a bit. Button just came from a broken table and looks and talks like a grinder. Just before this hand mp+1 and HJ play a hand where mp+1 faces a big bet from the HJ and comments how HJ looks like he's on monkey tilt, but still folds. HJ laughs and agrees as he talks down the pot.

Hero. . . MP. ($390)
Villain 1 MP+1 (covers)
Villain 2 HJ. ($330)
Villain 3 B. . ($500)

Hero dealt KK. Utg and +1 limp like they have all night. I raise to 16 since people are calling almost any amount preflop but I wanted to keep it within reason to keep mediocre hands in. All villains call and one limper (short stack) calls.

Flop($80) 7 8 J rainbow
Checks to me, I bet 50. HJ calls after quick deliberation, button calls behind.

Turn ($230) 4 rainbow
I think for a bit and check. I thought about betting but was suspicious about the action from the button. HJ thinks, and bets 150 leaving about 100 behind. Button gets out of the way.

Hero?

Shove at this point. You still rate to have the best hand.

If your read is correct on HJ, he could easily be overvaluing his top pair hands here. does he sometimes have a straight or a set here? Sure, but I think button's call on the flop means he probably had a small piece of the flop (like not top pair and gut shot which limits some of HJ straight combos). Shove is probably better than calling and going for a river donk or a check call.

Easy shove. The only reason I would have checked the turn is to hope for this to happen.

Spoiler:
Hero thinks for a while, shoves. HJ calls and flips over AJ. River blanks

Thanks guys, I guess this was more standard then I thought. What is everyone's thoughts on the line when the turn comes? As played or do you like leading out there?

It's kinda funny, because you checked turn because you were "afraid" and then, when someome actually bombs it, you end up shoving.

I was more concerned with the other player in the pot that came along than the main villain who was chasing a lot of losses. Another option I considered was leading out for around 1/2 pot, but if HJ comes along and then button squeezes I am in a pretty gross spot. I do agree with Javanewt though, the hand went as well as I could have hoped after a check.

So if the HJ checked and it was BTN that made any sized bet, you were folding?
