V1 normally can 3-bet very light out of the blinds, and not necessarily with a polarized range. A little later I saw him 3-bet KJs out of the big blind after I raised UTG and there were 2 callers. This was not out of character for him.
Absent the l/rr, even with a 5-bet I'd happily get it in with V1 with KK pre-flop for anything less than 200bb or so (maybe more). He's not a maniac, but he's loose and he's aggressive. He's not a good LAG though, and like a lot of LAGgy guys that I play with, he's not really aware of his own image and that people will rightfully get it in with him in more marginal spots. He can hand read, but is the kind of player who will put someone on marginal range, think he can bet them off of it, and be right about the range but wrong about how they react to the bet. A lot of "I can't believe you called that!"
I also don't want to overstate my read on V1 l/rr'ing. I don't recall having seen him do it, but I'm not saying he doesn't do it. Just that he hasn't done it enough or recently enough that it's stuck in my mind. He may have l/rr a month ago and had everyone fold to it, and I just don't remember.
