From my experience playing with the talking stick pool of players there is quite some differences between the 300 and 600 spread player pop.
The average lower players would tend to have you beat in this spot. In contrast at the higher game regs will show up with tons of bluffs, q8, and winning hands in this spot.
In my experience most lower regs don't buy in for 200bb at talking stick.
I would be interested on a physical description of villain as well as some info of the time and day of event in question.
As played I think a call is in order, take a deep breath when you get shown a cooler.

Max raise the turn. Is he limping 68s/66/88? You’re almost certainly ahead on the turn, make him pay.

I lived in AZ for several years, and if you don't think you are going to be shown AQ (or any queen really) a fair amount of the time, you are not paying attention, lol.
