Hello. I'm a live low-mid stakes player from Texas where the games I play frequently rake 10% 15$ cap w 2$ Jp for 17 max in 1/3; or 10% 25 cap lol in 2/5... And that's w a fair dealer. I am up 12,000 dollars since February 7. I have been a longtime lurker and now I want to actively participate. I'd like to learn from and with you all. I'm a 29 year old American who is typing on a cell phone.
Really short personal background: white upper class male with a lot of genetic lottery win. I think I'm too Lazy. Newly chubby (read:fat). Super extremely competitive. Imagined/projected/intended table image: affable, intelligent, ruthless.
I think I play well nowadays but I was a loser when I played online. Played spewy and rationalized that it was bc I was playing drunk/high/wet behind the ears and a pretty big impatient idiot overall. I still drink 100% of the time that I play and this is still just a fun (not professional) hobby.
I used to be a pretty good distance runner. I ran xc, indoor and outdoor for a dI university. Lifetime prs: 53.4 (400... HS), 1:56.8 (800...frosh), 3:56.31 (1500, conference jr. 4th), 4:09.21i (mile, indoor), 3k3ksc suck, 14:21i (5000, indoor, conference sr. 2nd) 3:27:xx (marathon, 16 years)
I had a string of injuries during my final collegiate season and started playing online at ft and stars. I'd estimate I am down 15k online lifetime (~3.5 year online sample) and it was lost pretty much 1-300 at a time. I know that I never once cashed out. My best online run I ran 130 up to about 3,500.About 2-3 months into my online experience one of my friends took me to an underground game where I got to play with actual people for the first time. I also scored my first cash out and I was hooked.
For a long time I played live poker 20-30 hours per week and I think I was a winner but I spent my money on drugs, booze, strippers and the like. I did not record my results reliably.
Recent history: I have played every Friday for the last 23 weeks with 8 other sessions mixed in. Generally play between 8-12 hours per session.
