the real problem here isnt some attempt at FPS, it's the donkbet by villain. As is standard with any donkbet our opponent simply lacks the information necessary to make a correct play. If he has the nuts then he risks losing value, if he has a draw then he risks getting felted. Therefore he is forced to simply play the value of his hand, what little there is. This is why donkbets are often done with medium pairs because such players have a history of struggling with these kind of hands. "Am I good? Am I bad? I dunno, but if I just throw money at the problem I'll get some kind of reaction and then maybe I'll figure it out". On a board like this, even when facing action, an overpair of any kind looks pretty good. He may have even already rationalized in his head that he's never going to fold herego might as well shove. It's like that terrible poker logic thread where someone says "i put him on AA so I called with 22, because 22 is the same as KK and I'm never folding KK pre"

OK, I think I know what you mean. I'm going to watch this guy closely in the future. I still don't really understand his play.

You seem to have his standard line is to c/c/b small to get paid with a good hand. You've played him 20 times. You've never seen him do this? FWIW, there are no "good" players regularly at 1/2.

My guess is you see TT or A9 here a lot. Not folding. If he did this to mix it up with a bigger overpair, make note of it (you should have pages on information on his at this point anyway).

I folded I did not understand the shove. The fact that he could have just flatted with QQ or higher is what did it for me. I felt like a total pansy and this guy's game is something I absolutely have to figure out. I think he's wealthy as a retiree which increases his gamble.

That's the only reason I'm a winning player because hands like this make me realize I suck! lol

This. V has all sets in his range and was making sure that the turn wasn't a club before shipping. It is a stupid play for sure, but I have seen it many times.

I have been in similar situation..i folded and the old guy show me 56cc.. He said, he had too many draws...

So he can make me fold AK, AQ, or overpair to huge turn bet..
