Hero-been playing a lot looser than normal for 1st 1/2 hour of session then tighten up a lot, is usually pretty solid player
V - seen him raise very wide pre when limped too in LP in previous session (K5ss etc) likes to raise when in LP/button a fair bit
Aggression levels seem to vary depending on how he connects to board.
Did win a big pot when hero thought he was making a steal on the button when he had aces
Has never seen him 3 bet before

Stacks
Hero 680
V 500ish

The hand
Hero utg with JJ raise to 20
Player in MP calls
V in CO raise to 80
Fold to hero
Hero ???? (I didnt really know what to do here raising just seems very spewy and folding just seem weak so call and play oop while not great seems the best of all the actions)
Player in MP (thought me calling might induce him to come along)

FLOP
K♤ 8♤2♡
Hero checks
V bets 75 (seems like he just picked up some chips and bets )
Hero calls

Turn
3♧
Hero checks
V bets 150
Hero ?????

I just didnt know what I am beating here that someone would 3bet pre? AA/KK/QQ/AK are all ahead of me.
AQ ♤♤ and TT are about the only thing I am beating.
I expect a decent river bet as he didnt seem intrested in slowing down at all.
Is he reading me that since I am calling I just have a flush draw here or am i thinking too much about it and he just has me beat

Unless your 1/2 hour of playing loose has given him a read that you are going to bet super light UTG, the combination of 3 bet and aggressive post flop makes it very likely that he has a big pocket pair.

I think this is a pretty easy fold pre, but if your going to play it 4bet fold to his shove

since we have never seen him 3bet, and he is 3betting and UTG opener, plus we're OOP, I would fold to the 3bet.

If he's a recreational player, his range is strong (not even all rec's 3b AK). If he's a good player, he should realize our UTG range is strong, and he still 3bet.

Sucks to have to do it, but fold pre. V isn't deep enough to call of $60 more.

I dont think it sucks to fold preflop at all. I actually like it. The odds are very very high that villain has QQ+ and hero could've easily lost $200-$350+ with JJ vs a higher pocket pair. Im always glad to get away from a cooler for next to nothing.

Now if villain had been 3 betting a lot, it would be a different situation.

Fold pre.

If I called here, I'd donk the flop before I check/called.

If youve never seen him 3bet before, I dont mind making an exploitative fold. You say you flat to give a chance to mp to come along aswell, thats a pretty bad way to look at this hand with JJ oop. The hand doesnt play great vs a aggressive player oop but even less well when we are MW. If you have a feeling he is fos preflop I rather 4b/gii than flat the 3bet and invite mp to come along and you guys are only 100bb aswell
