Fist pump call here!
A lot of people are picking such a narrow range for this player to have in live poker and are out leveling themselves. You made such a small 3 bet that he's most likely gonna want to see a flop with a whole assortment of suited connectors and smaller pairs. If he sees this flop with a pair or a flush draw he's gonna shove because won't know what to do on later streets. Sure he will flop a 9 every so often but that is weighted against times he has any PP or even a dumb hand like A3 or QTss

I saw this thread and was confused until I read the date. 4 years old almost.

One thing I've learned since posting this op is to always consider pocket pairs in villains range which 4 or 5 years ago I would frequently not properly consider.

Also facing any action on paired boards I would automatically jump to assuming v had trips or was bluffing.

Having played quite a few thousand of LLSNL hours since then I have a much different perspective in these spots and would be calling off more frequently against many villains.

I had a hand this weekend where I was able to raise QQ preflop and bet all streets post flop for value on a KK3 flop for a $900 pot at 2/5. In the past I would always shut down when I was called one or two streets let alone raised on a paired board. But getting a feel for a players tendencies by observing showdowns and assigning accurate ranges allows us to build an appropriate sized pot for a villain's stationing range even on what seem like scary boards.

most players nowadays have too much poker hand conversation at the table. so its easy to get a feel for how they think as they just tell you after most hands.

so simply after you made a few loose call downs against some players, you know that certain people paid attention and will value bet you hard. so just against them you make sure you have the goods. makes it easy to bust them when it falls right and they never know what hit them.
