SB: $300
BB: $350
UTG: $200
UTG+1: $200
Hero: $120
CO: $250
BTN: $100

UTG: coluding middle-aged chinese fish. seems tilted after stacking off a couple of times in two orbits. stacks off with TPNK, GS's, FD's.

UTG straddles to $4, folded to Hero who bets $12 with JJ. CO calls, BTN calls, BB calls, UTG calls.

Flop: 8c4d3c ($61)

checked to hero who shoves $108.

is overbet shoving flop bad?

Pre flop needs to be larger....4x min specifically because of UTG straddle. The chances are he won't fold to any raise.

AP. nh, WP.

Why is hero playing 60bb eff./ 30bb with straddle?

I think you should have made a plan for if say this did happen and bet $18 preflop. Youd likely get the same amount of callers (from my experience) and now the pot is $91 and you have $100 behind. youve got a SPR of 1.7 so your pretty much pot committed.

I think it also depends on who is in the hand its not just the UTG there is also 3 other people who might not be bad players.

These players are only going to call with better 2pair + so yes overbetting the flop is bad imo but your big mistake was the preflop raise was way to small imo.

im guessing UTG called and flopped 2pair or a FD and hit.

As played shove is your only option as you can never fold the turn if you bet $50 on the flop.

Once there was a guy heads up pot who was the biggest chaser id ever seen. gut shots and all. I flopped 2 pair after I raised preflop and shoved for mabye $500 into a $100 pot only because it was him. He called with a FD and missed, and I knew I could over charge him if he had it and proberbly was going to call with top pair anyways, but I only did this vs 1 player and that certain player not into 4 other randoms.

Ouch, I should feel lucky our min is 40 (bleh, but no one ever buys in min), max is 400, 10% capped at $5.

Preflop sizing makes this tough. What are calling tendencies of those behind you? 20 pre sets you/up pretty nicely because assuming all 4 still call its a pot sized shove on the flop, 3 callers is only a slight overbet 2 callers leaves you in a similar spot and if it goes heads up 2 psb gets it in on the turn.

As played I think I prefer 40 on the flop shove the turn... I want to try and commit ak.

Don't sit with $120. If your scared being 100 bb deep or are steaming leave the table come back in a day or two.

Pre- Open to $20, UTG is steaming and you want to isolate him. If you get reraised before it gets to him a lot of times I fold since its gonna be for a large portion of your stack and you have to shove/fold.

Flop - Bet $45 give someone a chance to come over the top with a FD or w/e kind of crap they have. You aren't necessarily only getting called by better hands, but alot of overs + FD/SD etc. There's no reason to blow these idiots out of the water right off the bat.

Overbetting isn't totally bad here, but I agree with Ricky--if your plan is to shove favorable flops, you need to be raising more preflop to set this up, especially in a straddled pot! We can raise to $20 or more here and still get callers. With the straddle on, you have only 30bb in this hand. Size your bets accordingly.
