1/2 NL. Saturday night.
Second hand at the table. Nothing to say about it.

Villain: 40's something woman. Wearing headphones. She looks competent. But I have nothing to prove that so far. I just don't see many middle aged women, sitting a poker table, wearing head phones, taking in the action, so that makes me think she's decent. $200

Hero: I just moved from another table to come play with some loose players that are known to me. I don't know I've ever seen V before, and I'm pretty sure she hasn't seen me. I'm a 20's something dude, wearing a hoodie (hood down) and some tiny earbud headphones. I talked to the table when I started, trying to seem friendly. Covers with $300 or so.

Hand:
BTN straddles
SB (Villain) raises to $11
Folds to hero
Hero calls with JJ in the CO
BTN folds

Flop: ($23) AJ5
V bets $18
Hero raises to $45
V calls after 4-5 seconds.

Turn: 8
V leads $70
Hero?

So, I was a bit confused at this point. I think she has A8 in her range never. Ever. So, she never just made two pair. She might be trying to make sure stacks get in with AA, if that's the case, pay her the money, nothing to do about it. She might have KQ KJ QT type hands, but I feel those are pretty unlikely, as they might fold the flop to the raise. Which leaves AK, AJ, 55. But even still, why is she leading the turn? Given stack sizes a shove seems almost a no brainer, but I couldn't get past the feeling that she was betting 'to see where she's at' on the turn, and clearly raising the turn after raising the flop and then being donked into on the turn again look SUPER strong. Am I just over thinking this?

If you really think she'll fold to a raise, then flat is fine, but I'm just shoving most of the time.

I'd probably 3bet pre.

+1 to 3b pre. Waking up with JJ in a straddled pot is a wet dream.

As played, V seems to have pot-committed herself, as she has a bloated pot with only $80 behind. And we have a set of jacks, the second nuts. What's to think about? Plenty often she shows up here with AT+, no? Ship. If she does have AA, you aren't getting folding for that $80 anyway, which'll surely go in otr if we flat.

Depends, is this a 9 handed table? If so i wouldnt be 3betting JJ vs an ep open, unless she raises wider than a solid player would

As played just shove turn

Wth, get it in. she has no FE. She has a hand to play for stacks in her mind, she's not betting to see where she's at.

As SB in a button-straddled pot, she's basically showing a ton of strength by raising preflop. Although, 11 into 7? seems awfully weak.
As others stated - I would have repopped pre.
But on this board - I highly doubt she's got any heart-suited connectors you need to worry about. I'd put her hand range on a big Ace, and big pocket pairs including AA (but if that's the case, then it is what it is).
I've seen good players try to force KK to win on a board like this - but AK and AQ are more likely.
Shove and put her out of her misery.
