9-handed, I've been very positionally/situationally/in-absolute-terms card dead. Occasionally calling after a string of callers in position, but raised some marginal-ish hands IP. C-bet light and thin value bet a few times, but mostly playing a straightforward value game postflop. Have not gone to showdown much. There may be some doubts running around folks' heads, but I'm probably viewed as pretty ABC TAG. Been ultra card dead (like I always am ).

V: Old smiley man, calling a lot of raises preflop, passive. Had towering stack that has dwindled to now maybe $250, after slowly bleeding out. Saw him get min value from a boat. Has called a decent amount of flop bets, but seems to fold regularly without a strong hand. Not sticky, but not necessarily getting blown away constantly.

Folds to UTG+1 (who has witnessed my tightness and has both limp-folded and limp called a few times -- covers) calls

H ($210) and AT 3rd to act raises $11. This is sometimes a muck, but I know I can garner some respect given how tight I've been. Still kinda spewy?

Folds to V ($250) in the CO who calls, rest folds.

Pot: $25

K 3 5

H bets $16, V calls

Pot: $55

Q

H checks, V checks

completely irrelevant brick of stars

H briefly contemplates (genuinely) then bets $41...

I know this looks like a fairly bluff-heavy line, so I went for the bigger sizing. I think he's folding most of his range that isn't at least TPmehK, and given his check ott, this felt like a small portion of his range

Thoughts?

Your description of V makes it kind of a crapshoot to try bluff him -- it would help I guess if you noted the kinds of board textures he was calling and then folding on, but sometimes it doesn't make any sense anyway.

I would probably give up after he calls the flop, but on the other hand, if he's calling with all his pocket pairs, then I'm barrelling the turn and not the river. It's too easy for him to call the river and your hand also looks weaker. So I say either give up, or follow up on turn and then give up. AP I think you're very likely getting called a lot of the time.

Looks awful, short of catching a set on the river a competent villain should look you up with any pair

Maybe you could get value from a worse ace if lucky

What if we have reason to believe V isn't competent, and this is a key reason why we think he'll fold his mid PP type range where others would gladly call off? I think he would call those to a bet size of $30-ish

If we bet the turn and the river, then I'd say it's mostly fine.
But I think when we check the turn we get looked up a lot here.

So I feel like V prob sees us as a nit, capable of being somewhat tricky though. Also he is not super adept at hand reading imo and has a definite fold button. I know against most V's this line is spewy, but it felt reasonable vs him.

When we check here and he checks back, I feel as though we are removing many Kx hands from his range.

The sizing otr tells him he cannot win with less than SPGK.

I'm stressing the smaller details b/c I feel they are important, but if the consensus is that this play was spewy, I will try to adjust my strat accordingly. Thanks for the feedback!
