Folded to me in cutoff I raise to $15 with Jc Jh. Button calls (just sat busted out of weekly tourney 3 out of money) no real read. BB calls. Flop is 8s 5s 2s. BB checks I bet $30 button shoves instantly for 186 total. BB folds hero??

With no other information, reads, dynamics, descriptions, or subtleties to help us, I'd fold.

Eliminating a made flush (no need to shove) and on overpair, (no raise pre) you have good equity against his draws, crushed by the dreaded set but ahead of middle pairs and bluffs. 156 to win 260, I call.

Snap fold. He has a flush plenty.

IME tournament players can be really be bluff monkeys and overvalue a ton of hands.

My thoughts:

1) He is tourny player, so its reasonable for him to bluff higher frequency and overvalue hands, he is also OTB so that may raise bluff frequency

2) I think GENERALLY folding overpairs for 100bbs OTF is bad

3) The snap ship indicates no thought which makes it somewhat unlikely he has a nutted hand, he would have to think about raise sizing or if he wanted to slowplay or not.

4) two pairs are unlikely, sets are limited in combos, and their may be enough 8xYs or AsYx to call here, I wonder if he would play 67 like this?

This seems like a real standard fold to me. If villain really is crazy, which I wouldn't decide from a single hand, he'll show it and then we can adjust our play against him.

In my experience there aren't many players bluffing like this at $200nl.

This is never anything other than a fold with out any history to tell us that he's potentially cray.

at best you are up against the ace of spades... and that is a flip. most of the time (75%or more) your already screwed.... it is a pretty easy fold actually.

Probably near best case scenario for your hand and he still had 11 outs. You don't have dominating equity vs any of the hands he shows up with here, and you could be pretty much dead sometimes. Even though he happened to have a hand you were favored against this time, it is still a fold.

You're probably good right now but it's a fold until you've seen he's gonna ship worse.
