Isolating range or taking down limped pots Isolating range or taking down limped pots

So im trying to figure out what hands are best to isolate limpers with to take down pots or take the initiative to take down the pot if they call and i cbet.

What hands are good to do this with besides the obvious 99+ ATo+ .

I read that suited weak aces are better to be limped. What about hands such as 46s or 56s. should i limp or raise to take down the blinds. Now of course i understand if everyones limp call friendly then i wouldnt do it with weak hands as i most likely wont hit and they will call my cbet most of the time and thats lighting money on fire. So what are hands i should be isoing with? It seems like i dont play enough hands at the table sometimes and would love to take down some small pots here and there with marginal hands but have no idea what i should be doing it with.

Thanks.

It depends. What are the stack sizes of the limpers? What are their tendencies preflop and postflop? What position are you in? Who are the players behind you? What are their stack sizes? What are their tendencies? What is your image? There's no one-size-fits-all approach to beating poker. Post some hands where you iso'd (or considered iso'ing) limpers and you'll get better advice.

Above is pretty spot on even though it may not be what you're looking for at first glance OP.

A lot of times you're just as much looking to isolate a situation as a hand. Some good examples of some outside of the box things you can look for are things like J9s or Ax, the type of thing that we don't really want to face multiple opponents w, but against a weak opponent who may call down light w mid pair we can create a spot where we can either value bet light, or Bluff later on in the hand.

I think the prime characteristics are going to generally be players w weak or predictable postflop tendencies, and hands that have some value heads up, but might not necessarily prefer to play multi way.

There's arguments for lots of hands like 55+ and 9/anything + if you find the right situation. I would focus more on identifying and learning to navigate through them I. E. Exploitation, rather than what hands. Also, don't get too crazy, very easy to slash your own win rate and create unnecessary variance if these spots aren't well understood.
