Hero - $1100 - moved from other broken table - 3bet once with Th9h and got 2 callers and just check folded a 732 one heart flop. Maybe looked weak but didn't really have much going for me and I didn't wanna try and bluff 2 players.

Villain 1 - short stack - maybe $400 - limping a lot and calling raises. Probably not a good player.

Villain 2 - $2000 - Asain guy who opened to $30 with A8o so he obviously has some leaks. Maybe aggressive pre - haven't seen him do any thing crazy post.

Hero gets Aj in HJ and goes $30 over 2 limps.

I go $110 - a little small but this will fold out random crap and the short stack only has $170 left at this point. So if he calls he will be left with $60. I don't think i'm going to get raised often by the big stack. Not sure how I feel about this bet now, but it's what I did in game.

Why are you betting flop and turn?

Check.

The presence of the microstack and our tight image means that V2 probably won't pay off a decent bet with any hand we beat. Not even JJ or A6.

If we make a small bet to get the microstack's remaining 60, V2 can confidently value raise with any of his 2-pair+ hands which allowed us to get to showdown cheaply.

Spoiler:
In before, hero bet 30 to induce, V1 shoved,
V2 raised to 380, hero shoves with the A blocker, V2 slowrolls the flopped straight flush.

You have enough showdown value you might as well check now. After both called the turn a bluff is probably a terrible idea anyways.

Flop bet seems OK, check reasonable as well. Turn bet I don't like, chance of taking it down seems questionable and getting raised would suck. River seems like a check. Betting $60ish to try to stack the shortstack is reasonable, but any kind of real-size bet would be terrible.

I'm fine with the turn bet for a number of reasons:
  • This will fold out some random crap.
  • We're building a pot so we can win a large pot if we hit the the flush as we will 17.4% of the time.
  • We'll potentially buying ourselves a cheap showdown and stopping them from leading ito us on the river.
  • It's hard for them to semi-bluff raise us off the hand particularly with the shortstack there and us having the nut blocker.
  • We probably have 33% equity or more V1's range of hands including 6x hands some of which will fold or jam.

pre and flop are fine

Turn is a no like.

Check river and you probably win with top pair to someones overpair like JdJx or KT with kig of diamonds.

Either way you prob win on river and heck got a bit lucky to win more than you should since that turn bet basically never gets folds.

I would say the bet on the turn and check on the river is fine. The bet on the turn would still possibly fold out some hands that are better than ours like 4x, 5x, some 7x mostly small pair plus straight draws although A7 might peel another. You also get worse hands to call like Kdx hands, possibly Qdx and Jdx. Possibly hands like Ao8d or straight draws with the 8d or the 6d hands(not better than ours obv) that check back the river if they miss.

I thought the sizing was fine as well. Checking back the river is pretty mandatory unless you truly think one of these opponents is capable of calling with worse(I doubt it, but you know them better).

I could also be fine with a check on the turn to realize some of our equity with being good against a decent portion of their range. But if you check the turn and it gets checked to you on the river I would argue a value bet on the A river.

Just my 2 cents

Cheers,
JB

The only time I might consider betting is if I think there is a specific reason V2 might call us light.

+1. Don't want to be raised off the hand on turn given our equity and river won't be called by worse.
