Hero didn't play in any of these hands but Villian is a reg that I play with a lot -

Villain 2 - I don't think i've seen him 3bet much this session but I would assume he has QQ+

Villain starting stack $2500
Villain 2 stack $900

Villain opens UTG to $25 with AQ
folds to villain 2 on BTN who goes $85
Villain calls

Not sure I like the call -but being this deep it can't be awful.

$177
J84
Villain checks
Villain 2 bets $135

What do you guys do here???

Initial thought here: why a 5x UTG open. $15-$20 is pretty standard in the 2-5 NLHE games I frequent in.

If the range of the Villain 2 3-Betting on the Button is only QQ,KK,AA,AK then it makes little sense to call as you are only comfortable if you hit a flush. If the range is a bit wider, then I think the call is fine, maybe a bit unnecessary of a spot to put oneself in, but not horrible.

Again, based on range description from OP, it makes little sense to raise here as villain will probably jam or call an All-In. I also assume Hero didn't call preflop to find 2 spades
and fold, even to a 75% pot bet. Seems pretty standard to call in this spot and fold all turns that are not a spade, Ace, or ten.

If I'm V I shove. Shoving is the only way we have FE of against a range of QQ+, and if we get called by that range we're still in pretty decent shape.

As Villain it depends on what I know about V2. Mostly fold if I'm putting V2 on that tight of a range but if his range is that tight I probably don't call preflop. I would rather have 98s if I'm fishing to beat a big pair then AQs.

Raise/shove looks good. I like $400 but sizing depends on V2 and how he reacts to pressure.

Call is highly unlikely but if V2 is stationary enough to pay off then possibly. Also if V2 has AK in his range and will c-bet flop but give up afterwards I'm more inclined to call and try to take it away on the river sometimes.

Preflop call is pretty dubious, like you said.

I'd raise to 450 because I think it looks a bit stronger than shoving, we're playing for stacks either way.

Not sure why the thread tbh - can't do anything but x/r get it in here. Obviously can't fold given huge equity and not raising would be really bad. Need to take whatever FE we can get, plus get the money in while our equity is high.
