1/2 game
Hero: $244, MP
Villain: ~$700 Utg +2

I pick up QQ. Villain next to me limps in. I bet $10. Player to my left in the highjack calls. Folds around to Utg+2 who calls.

3 ways to a flop of 9s 10c 4c.
Utg+2 checks, I bet $32 into a pot of $50. Player to my left folds. Utg+2 calls. Pot is now $114.

Turn is a Jack of spades. With two flush draws on the board now and my overpair + open ended straight draw I make a ~pot size bet of $110.

The river is a King of clubs, so I make a straight, but the flush draw gets there. Villain checks.

Do I jam my remaining $92 here, or check and hope my showdown value is good?

Didn't read spoiler, and hope it doesn't contain results, because most people can't resist. If it does, I'll edit them out and please don't include next time. Wait until discussion has died down to give results.

I like a bigger raise PF. I don't know what a normal size open is in your game, but I'd do that plus one BB for the limper and maybe half a one for being in MP. In the games I used to play when I played 1/2, that would be about $14. Hand is well played thereafter, and I'd check back river, unless V is really sticky. I don't see anything calling even a small shove on that board that you beat. Board is just too scary, and I think all of his TP hands, even if they turned in to 2pair, will likely fold. Betting is just value-cutting ourselves against the overpaying FD portions of his rage, imo.

I would jam it in. The pot is $314. I dont believe he is ever checking a flush to you on the river. He would jam himself and hope you cant fold.

Is he going to call you with a hand that you beat? Not that often, but it happens.

I got a big river bet called yesterday by the 8c on a JcTc9cQdAc board. I was the preflop raiser. I check called the flop...then led the turn so it should be pretty obvious I have a K. I had KcKs. He still called.

I'd push it in on the river, for the same reason you'd have call on the river. Any two pair or set is going to have to call getting 4:1 odds. A made flush should have bet.

How is there $50 in the pot pre and only 3 players to the flop when you raised to $10?

Raise larger pre...would start at $10-$12 generally and add $2 for every limper as a general rule of thumb (although circumstances do change that at times). Turn is fine and jam river.
