Villain- a middle aged man from Transylvania , sitting next to his son, who are both built like power lifters, is sitting in seat one with 200$. He has been very very active, min raising just about every hand pre and getting called or min raised by his son and the rest of the table. He is in for 300-400$.
Hero- looks like George clooney and has been playing a very solid game. Whether villain is aware or not is uncertain. Hero has 350$.

V straddles (common) and his "son" re straddles ( slightly common) folds to hero in the 7 seat who raises to 40$ with AKss

I suppose I should say V hasn't called too many big raises, maybe only one or two , usually after the flop. Also, his hands have been all over the place, from checking down JJ on a T high board to calling all streets with second pair.

Check. If you're beat he likely isn't folding anything that beats you. If he had a missed draw you'll already win the hand. If this guy has been active but hasn't called big bets I doubt he is going to call $40 PF and $50 OTF that light.

Check. You have decent show down value with your hand and he is never folding better when you take this flop/turn line and bet river.

However, while on paper I think your hand should have reasonable river show down value against a guy like this, his LOL live tell on the turn is a pretty serious sign of strength. Don't like this spot to bet at all.

Check. Worse isn't calling. Any pair should look you up, so better isn't folding. He might have smashed the board if he's turning away in disgust.

Check back. You beat a decent number of hands (KQ/Q9/98, maybe AQ/K9 if he calls flop with those) and aren't getting a T to fold after taking this line. If he has worse that beats you (99-55, 4x) take a note for future reference that he's sticky vs. flop c-bets.

Hero does not look as much like George Clooney as he thinks he does, or Villain would be pressured to do a better acting job. Don't spring this trap, especially with the showdown value of nut no-pair

If you were going to pull the trigger, it should have been on the turn. Just check now.

I´m used to bluffing off and herocalling for a few k on the river since my mid twenties on a pretty regular basis, reload and play the next hand. I cried in my mid-late twenties when my girl left me. dunno whether this makes me either tough or a pussy, but both the sicko and the whiney bitch in me thinks it´s an easy check.

If I bet here, it is for value.
