I primarily play / see this in, llsnl, mods if you know a better forum for this, by all means.

I heard limon say something awhile ago that he loves playing at tables with married couples because he could take advantage of their soft play against each other.

I was at a game tonight where 2 friends checked down quads vs top full house.

I Constantly see games where 2 friends drove together, or wife and a husband, guys who take smoke breaks together, or people sharing a roll, etc.

What are some ways we can take advantage of this information, knowing they aren't going to bluff each other? Perhaps they could trap you though and bet you out / check it down.

Whatever they do after I've folded my hand and quit the pot is entirely up to them. I don't care if they softplay and check it down whenever it's heads up. It doesn't affect my EV at all.

I'm just going to play my ranges vs their ranges, just like I would in any other situation. It's simple really.

It does affect your EV. For a specific example, if two good players are soft-playing and taking full advantage, you can not call very many hands on the BU facing a CO open, as the CO's buddy in the BB can squeeze more liberally than normal. Usually the burden of defense against a 3-bet lies with the CO because cold-callers are capped, but if the CO defends and you fold BB makes money even if he doesn't win the hand. They've rigged it so the entire burden of defense lies on you.

That said, 99% of bankroll sharers either don't know how to take advantage, or don't try to. Most soft-play colluders are really bad at poker anyway and welcome at my tables.

My experience is that types that are very recreational, and are in a close relationship such family, married, or friends driving to the game together, are more likely to not reraise when their friend has entered the hand unless they hold a super premium hand. They are less likely to squeeze light.

I don't see this too often anymore, but it does happen occasionally. There may or may not be additional edge to gain from how they are playing each other. Obviously if they are really colluding and trying to work the table, your best bet is to ask for a table change and alert the floor manager that you think this might be going on. In my 14 years playing live poker I've never had to do this.

When you see a couple that won't play at each other, and you're the 3rd in the pot, you know their ranges are stronger when one of them does bet. Likewise they will probably be calling your bets with a slightly stronger range as well. So the main adjustment is go for thin value less, and fold a bit more.

The flip side, that I think I actually see more often, is two friends who are trying to stack each other. Here you're going to want to slowplay and let them go at it.

The expert move is to leave the card room, drive to couple's home, and burglarize it.
