$1/$2, 5-6 handed mostly
I just moved here from a broken table with $650, everyone else $100-$300. V was sitting around $150-$200.
This table is playing pretty tight I guess, but I just sat down.
V is opening
every hand for $6 and picking up the blinds. Doesn't matter what position or cards apparently. Saw it with J4, saw it with AA.
I try to look him up now and then and call him down relatively light. Unfortunately, when it does get to showdown he always has the best hand. Crap like Q3>99, K7 > AQ, 93>AK hitting 2 pair or turning 3oak. But mostly it goes blinds, raise to $6, fold around. This crap, along with just folding the blinds at a short table, starts costing too much.
About once every dozen hands, when there is the raise to $6 and at least one caller, I'll 3bet to $25 with air and take it down preflop. I didn't want to get to crazy with that in case they start calling, but it helped keep chips coming my way.
I ended up losing about $150 at this table until it broke and I got moved to a new table.
SO...whats the correct way to play a short handed table with this V?
I'm thinking I just have to loosen up and gamble with any two but I'm too resistant to donk off a healthy stack. And I know I don't have what it takes to read if I've got him beat post flop, especially since he's running good. I just got tired of seeing him win so much
