Live £1/2 Full ring

Folded to me on the button with Jh8h - Raised to £10

Small Blind has been drinking for the entire evening and seen his stack dwindled down from a couple of hundreds to £120 in this hand, he has been doing a lot of weird raisings and clearly trying to get it in at some point this evening - This is the 4th pint I am seeing him having so I presume he must be at least slightly drunk

SB min-raised to £20
BB (effective with me £400 - I cover both) cold called £20
I don't think much else to do here apart from calling
Pot: £60

Flop: 8d4s3d
SB just shipped the remaining £100 chip in there
BB folded very quickly
I don't have much experience playing against drunk people as I have no idea what their range could possibly be here, is 99-AA + AK + flush draw reasonably to assume here? If yes, it is almost break even to call

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated

meh... if he has an overpair, you are a 3:1 dog. If he just has overs, you are a 1:3 fave.

I would fold a majority of the time. Maybe only call if he couldn't keep his mouth shut and he gave away what he had.

He has played it like an overpair (AA specifically), so I would be careful about widening his range too much. If we don't know for sure that he is capable of making moves, it's ok to let this one go.

Yeah, I guess you can call some of the time but you didn't play J8s for the high card value, right? You played it for it's raw equity and you have none. Calling can't be horrific but I think fold is the play.

You said yourself that he's been doing a lot of weird raises. That means you think he's FOS, right? Now you hit top pair and all of a sudden you decide to doubt your read? Just go with it and call. He could have a lot of hands here besides AK -- at least AQ,AJ,KQ would all play this way. You said yourself that he was looking to get it in, right?

Lesson of this post should be: trust your read and call. If he woke up with an overpair, sorry for the bad luck.

Easy standard call. Don't overthink. His range is a lot of hands including worse value.

Fold pre if you're going to flop top pair and be unhappy getting the chips in with an SPR < 2 against a drunk guy.

I'm fine with the open and call, but when you're calling the minraise, you have to know you need 2p or better. That minraise looks a lot like a decent high pair or overs. You get a hand like this, and you're putting yourself in a position to lose way more than that ten pound investment for no good reason.

not folding
looks like a slightly +ev call
as a side note, if you're going to make high variance plays, you're better off donating to fish than good players since you have a much higher chance to get your money back
