Help me beat this home game. Help me beat this home game.

Hello all. I need advice beating this crazy home game i've been playing at. The blinds are 1.00 on the dealer, but you can make it up to 5.00 preflop before you see your cards. There are no other blinds.

The game can get wild with people straddling to 10 dollars in any position. The usual stack sizes are 100 dollars, but you can buy in more if you like.

My questions are:

With people straddling for 10 dollars preflop, how much would you choose to buy in with at this game. (note, most people only have 100 dollars)?

What types of starting hands would you play facing a 10 dollar straddle preflop in this game?

Last question, Is this a good game or would you look elsewhere?

You didn't mention rake/take.

But barring that,

Lol, this is an amazing game.

Download poker stove, play around with it, and see that you should be comfortably stacking off with a decent range.

I'd also limp/reraise my premiums in this game, that is if raises pre are still common even with a big straddle.

I would love this game! People putting 5-10 bb in blind?? It will be a variance filled game...people generally play very poorly in straddled pots IMO. You are going to have to loosen up to some extent rather than playing ABC but these can be extremely profitable games if your bankroll can handle some ups and downs.

Just to add, your speculative hands (low pps & suited connecters) go way down in value. Pretty much don't play them unless you start to get deep. You want to play premiums/Broadways/88+ for stacks.

Additional question

OP: What kind of bankroll do you think I should have to play this game?

A: $2k.
