As I've got better over the last year (20 hrs a week) I find myself sitting with 300-400 BB on a more regular basis. I usually leave at this time. It seems like every time I play on I'm on my way down. I know Im not 'changing up' my play that got me deep in the first place.
Is 400bb the optimal win for live 1-2?
Do I have to drastically alter my game when deep?
Any links to threads on this you guys can point me to?
The obvious is that after 6/8 hours i get tiered and just don't play as well.

Any advise is as usual greatly appreciated...

In my experience 1/2 games never really get deep enough to have to adjust your play a whole lot. I say this because at my 'sino its not uncommon for the avg stack size to be around 100bbs and your basically just playing the effective stack size when you are sitting deep at a shallow table.

Perhaps your experiencing some winning tilt?
Perhaps you are losing focus in long sessions?
Perhaps some is just variance?

Next time you find yourself sitting 300-400bbs in a game and you later on cash out for less, ask yourself where that money went, what happened and why.

Playing deep is only going to matter if other players at your table are also deep...

Then in a nutshell big pocket pairs go down in value while io hands such as sc go up in value in terms of stacking off post..

Bankroll management considerations also come into play when you get deep. Common wisdom is to get up when your stack eclipses 10% of your total bankroll. There's nothing wrong with taking an hour-long break to lock in a win and possibly returning with a max buy-in (although if some of your previous victims are still playing, they might disagree lol)

This common wisdom is good, but I want to add a caveat. It should only apply to people playing professionally. I only have a 5k roll but am totally willing to stay and play in a juicy game when I have 800 or 1000 because I can replenish it, so who cares. In other words, you should only get up if you do this for a living or it affects your game for the worse, and this will not be the case for many players. I find that when I have an $800 stack my fold equity goes way up and cbets start printing money. No way I'm leaving then.
