Got myself in trouble?

Game 1-2
Villain thirties, tourist, likes to bet flop high with top pair and move all in if called.
Effective stacks $280.
The hand:
Two limpers, Hero in MP limps with As4s. Two more limpers and villain on the button, raises to $12.
The previous limpers ahead of me call, Hero calls and one more limpers calls.
Pot: $60.
Flop: 6s6d7s
All checked to initial raiser who bets $55. The two ahead of Hero fold.
Hero? Fold or shove?

What is the limper between you and Villain doing? Does he seem interested in the pot?

I might play this a bit differently pf, but I'm not sure of table dynamics. OTF, I'm leaning shove, but I really don't like the paired board, or the fact there's still people left to act though. What are your reads & stacks on the two people between you and V?

Re: Got myself in trouble?

This was a limp fest table. The ones ahead of me limped a lot of hands.
Behind short stacks and a little more selective.

Re: Got myself in trouble?

Not sounding to me like our vil has a fold button here. If we call we get around 6:1 w implied odds + our turn SPR will only be around 1.5. I probably just flat. Might be inclined to bomb an offsuit 5 or 8 turn if he leads again.

Hero? Fold or shove?
So, presumably, V has top pair or better and is going to shove on you if you call anyway. You are behind and chasing the hand, why do you want to shove knowing you are behind and he will call? Fold.

Re: Got myself in trouble?

The big bet on such a drawy board looks pretty strong so it looks like he has a big overpair. I wouldn't shove against this villain because it looks like villain isn't folding if you do. I wouldn't fold this either. You might even win if you hit an ace. So I'd just call and see what happens on the turn.

If his flop bet was much smaller, then it would look much weaker and I'd be seriously considering a raise. But not in this spot when his bet looks strong. He looks like he has a hand, likes his hand and is trying to protect his hand against the draws that might come in. And he could also be trying to protect a hand like KK-88 against overcards. Even KK will fear an ace.

Villain might not even raise hands like 88 or 99 so bigger pairs are more likely, and if he has hands like KK-JJ and you hit a spade you will often win his stack.

Re: Got myself in trouble?

I think his most likely holding here is a big overpair, and we are getting the proper implied odds for stacks on just the turn card. Additionally, we most likely will have the best hand if we hit the Ace and he checks back on the turn (which he will most likely do with an overpair). Easy flop call, also strongly dislike shoving as we have little FE vs a big overpair which will snap our shove.
