fact is OP was at the table a minimum of 30 minutes

but probably longer. it appears the table was shady the entire time he was there. in that time, how many times did OP
1) tell the floor about the shadyness
2) tell the dealer about someone doing something
3) say anything about any player that was doing something in clear violation of any rule

it appears OP did none to all 3 or else he would have stated such in his 1st post.

and it's been said a few times now, the correct way to handle this table is to talk to the floor away from the table before this hand even happens. the floor will go watch, hopefully correct things and get the dealer to do his job. the floor is the bad guy and no one targets OP

this was a new table, I was there when it opened, roughly running an hour.

I did mention in a previous post that I did say something nonchalantly to the dealer before this hand happened, as did at least one of the other older guys.

I didn't check/ raise the river, I check/raised the turn to set up the river shove

I also didn't call the floor or anything of the sort. I shook her hand, as much as it pained me to do it, and then made some light hearted remarks to her husband.

Along the lines of, "man she most be a world class slot player, otherwise you wouldn't advise her to make that call," "either that or I'm not playing a pot w/ you the rest of the day, your reading me like a menu over here."

then to her, "very nice, I don't have that kind of gamble in me."

everyone laughed and was happy, and the game continued.

I waited 3 hands went smoked a cig, then got myself right in the bathroom, came back just in time to watch her over call her entire stack all in on the flop w/ 33, an under pair to the board and a gutter to the bad end of a straight redraw, unfortunately she didn't get there

Players shouldn't have to tell the dealer to do their job. If this happened to me, I'd stiff the dealer for half the pot. I'd tell them later on away from the table exactly why I wasn't going to tip them for a while. When dealers don't do their job, I don't tip them.

I was playing in a game a few days ago where two drunk short stacks were going all in on each other blind pre-flop when no one else was in the pot. They were laughing and joking and were a little out of line, but that was all fine. Then, the dealer started to try to get in on their joke. Instead of dealing the 3 card flop, she dealt 1 card. She then told the drunk guys to check one card. She dealt all one card streets with a minute of talking and laughing after each card. The joking was just between the two drunk short stacks and dealer. Everyone else just wanted to play poker. There was never much in the pot and they started doing it every 3rd hand. We were playing at rate of like 10 hands/hour. I left the table and stiffed that dealer for $5 in tips the next day and moved on.

I try to stiff the dealer in proportion to their offense. In this situation, if I were OP, I wouldn't tip the dealer for like a month. Tips are not automatic. If a dealer error costs me a pot, I stiff them for 1/2 the pot. If they do something minor (like not stopping people from talking in foreign languages at the table), I'll stiff them like $5. I'd rather stiff the dealer than call the floor. I shouldn't have to tell the dealers to do their job.

This is an absolute abomination. I am so sorry you had to experience such a thing.

jesse123,

That's the worst dealer behavior I've ever heard of. I bet the floor would have spot fired her if they were aware of that.
