Live $1/$2 nl he
Hero and villain both have stacks of about $300, no info on villian since it was early in the session but he seemed like he knew what he was doing

Preflop: UTG raises to $12, Hero calls with KhQc, another LP calls
Flop ($39): Q25ss, Villian bets $20, Hero raises to $60, LP folds

Turn ($159): 5s, Villian bets $75, Hero calls

River ($309): 8c Villian checks, Hero Checks

Hero wins pot with two pair, Queens and Fives, King kicker.I thought the raise on the flop was kind of bad because he can definitely have AQ but idk. His preflop open was a little big which is why i called (not raised), and reason I raised flop was because he was c-betting a lot and spades were there. The lead on the turn almost made me fold because 1.) the spade came and 2.) most guys at 1/2 live dont play that strong of a line with just top pair after getting raised. I guess my question is how often do u guys think im beat? Do I ever shove river? Do I ever call a shove on river?
Btw, he showed QJ right before he mucked.

Pre we need a read on his preflop raising tendency, your hand can actually be a fold to a UTG raise.

What, exactly, are you trying to do on the flop?

Turn, 5 isn't really a scare card, it's really just that the flush came in. What sort of range do you give him here?

River, uhhh...what are you folding out with a shove that beats your hand? After his raise pre he never has 5x so you're basically targeting AQ and AA-KK. Obvious river check is obvious.

When villian called your $60 on flop, and pot was 159, what was your plan going to be for the turn?

Fold turn because he has a flush a lot of the time, along with AA/KK/AsQx. Too many ways you're getting in your money bad. As played, check back river, river bet only folds out things you beat.

Fold pre until we get a better read on his ranges and tendencies.

Lol at the info raise on the flop.

Turn should be a fold.

Snap check river.

Fold pre.

I think you were fortunate he continued with worse after you raised the flop. I'd just check and keep the lead with him otf to keep JJ, TT, AK, nfd's in his range and induce him to continue betting these hands ott.

AP, I don't know lol. That's why I'd fold pre to an unknown with this weak of a hand.

AP, otr, get to showdown. He can't check with better here. This was busted something, maybe just spazz, but can't let V c/r bluff, just show down.

I'd fold this preflop a lot.

Raising the flop seems to serve no purpose. Better hands are continuing, weaker hands are folding. I'd rather just flat, then bluff a spade if I thought he would fold AQ. Or check behind the turn, flat or bet the river. Seems like a better way to get money out of a weaker hand.

It's too hard to know if he's going to take a line like this with a hand that we beat. I don't see too many villains pulling this off.

I *think* I would fold this turn AP, I think it's AQ a lot, spades a lot (although I'm not sure which flush draws lead and then call the flop)
