AQ PP bit me in the ass TWICE this weekend at HoChunk Wisconsin Dells, suited both times.

1) AQh in the Sat tourney, reposted from thread I started in MTT:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/18...sizes-1437099/

Level 5, about 10 min from 1st break, average is $9.1k, I saw 1 turn up to this point and won $2k to get to just under $10k.

When I get AQs in the cutoff. Goddamn AQ.

3 limpers to me, I raise $1.5k.

1 fold and 2 callers -- 1 early 1 mid.

Flop comes A 9 Q.

Check to me, I raise $1k for value and to discourage a straight draw -- they both call.

5 on the turn -- I bet $2k -- THEY BOTH CALL, WOOT!

2 on the river -- to make a rainbow board of A 9 Q 2 J -- I shove. No way they'll both call, right? THEY BOTH CALL. I'm like WTF.

Early has J 9 for lower 2 pair. WOOT! I'm looking at about $25k.

Chip Leader going into the break.

Mid shows 2 2.

2. 2.

He called for his whole stack, throughout the hand, with that flop, with deuces.

And I'm done, less than 10 min from the 1st break (WHICH IS THE END OF THE REBUY PERIOD).

Did I mention this was a rebuy tournament?lol

Then Sunday1/2 AQd:

Flop is Jh Qh 10d -- guy calls my value raise.

Turn is a 10, so I split his stack in half with my next bet. I'm putting squarely him on Q-rag, judging from his LAG play,. (I am correct as it will turn out.) Strictly value betting.

River is a 3. I shove. He calls. Flips over Q 3.

I'm out 3/4 of my stack. Two hands later I ask him what he was thinking. He said, I was just thinking that myself. I don't know why I kept calling.

Everyone at the table is stunned. Play continues. I love cards.

Sorry! It was a J not a Q. I'm still reeling.lol Thanks for catching that.

I figure at best this guy is drawing a straight or flush, so I kept trying to push him away from the get go. I raised preflop, and after every street. The table, you should've seen everyone when he said 2 pair. I'm sure I was pale as a ghost when he said that. I said, You got me before we even flipped 'em over. The effer sucked out, and he himself didn't even know why. fwiw- he looked like he had an awful day, and was self-destructing. He just got lucky.

Sick soul read. Awful board read. Your 3 pair beats his 3 pair.

Unless where you play queens and threes beats aces and queens I don't understand the second part of the post

As to the first part, unfortunately you see that quite a lot in rebuy tourneys
Players call pre with any pair hoping to hit a set and then call off their stack to the end knowing if they don't hit they can rebuy

Good luck at the tables

No **** lol. I've never been so close to tilt. I just shook my head and let the butthurt flow thru me.lol I came out ahead $250 for about 6 hours of play tho, so I ain't complaining. Just thought it'd be fun to share. I don't think I've ever won with AQ. Ever.

BBV is <--------- That way.

Although if you go ---------------> this way long enough, you'll eventually circumnavigate the internet and end up back there again.

Please read the stickies, and don't post beat threads here.
