Villain- relatively new to the table and has been running good. Seems to always be at the top of his range at showdown. I wouldn't say he is a winning player but isn't a total fish. Is more aggro then passive however I haven't seen him take down any huge pots.

v1 - straddles 4$

v2- calls 4$

v3- calls 4$ main villain 500$ effective

Hero (BTN)- makes it 30$ with Ak

blinds and straddle fold

v2- calls 30$

v3- calls 30

Pot- 97$

Flop - AJ6

villains check to me

Hero- c bet to 45$

v2- folds

v3- raises to 125$

at these limits (1/2) from my experience these players are way more passive unless they are nutted. Do you just fold here and wait for a better spot? Or do you call and see what the villain does on the turn?

as played I called

hero- calls 125$

Turn- 4

Villain jams all in

Hero- ????

I call both flop and turn...Aggro villain is raising AA, JJ, AJs, and potentially even AJo and A6s pre. Playing it conservative and saying villain just limps AJo and A6s, there are 3 combos of 66, 4 combos of AJo, and 1 combo of A6s...There are max 8 value combos that beat us, and it might not even be that high.

I call flop, although a fold is fine. You raised a good amount pre, so AK and even AA/JJ are in your range, yet he still raises? That's pretty strong.

I fold the turn vs. described V. If he's bluffing, so be it. I hope he shows and you gained valuable info -- I just don't see what bluffs here? He could easily have AJ/A6/66 and maybe JJ.

BTW, OP's description doesn't seem aggro to me, just more aggro than passive, which doesn't mean much. I think he limps a lot with AJ/A6/66, as so many LLNL players do.

If this is the first time you have seen villain check/raise just fold. The board is very dry and very few low stakes villains will bluff check/raise. There are few hands that beat you but villain's range is mostly constrained to those hands.

Villain could be bluffing but it isn't common enough to be worth finding out.

If you do call flop you mostly need to call turn. The few 1/2 villains aggro enough to bluff check/raise are going to carry through and shove turn.

let me rephrase villain is more "active" than "aggro"

On a dry board, I'd fold to the raise on the flop if I'm going to fold the turn blank to a PSB
