1-3, $500 max buy-in.
V in UTG+1 is an older tight regular, not aggressive, with only $145.
Hero is older regular, more of a TAG, with $450.
Hero opens UTG for $15 with AcKs.
V re-raises to $45, everyone else folds, hero calls.

Pot: $94
Flop: KdQd5s

Hero checks, V goes all-in for remaining $95.
Pot is now $189, offering 3:1 odds for a call.

I would put V's 3-bet range at AA, KK, QQ, and AK. With that flop and V's perceived range, for 32BB, was folding the correct action here? Does anyone fold OOP pre-flop with AK to a 10BB 3-bet from this category of V?

snap call. 100% of the time.

Could have folded pre to a nit, but once you called I think you're committed.

Fold or gii pre. Given the V descript, I'd fold.

As played, have to make a crying call otf.

You're getting 2:1 on a call, not 3:1. You need 3:1 to make this call profitably against the nitty range you've given your villain. The only way you can profitably call is to somehow fit JJ into that range. Short stacks can sometimes do weird things, but I don't think they jam JJ into 2 overs like that. Fold in both spots.

I mean for 50BB's you cant go wrong getting it in pre with AK. Like what exactly are you hoping for postflop, to get action from KK when the flop is A24? Or get QQ to ship on a K98r?

Yeah, GII pre. AP, just shove flop yourself.

You can't call off 1/3rd of your stack preflop just hoping to flop an A/K to outflop his QQ-. You have to make a decision right now whether to go with it, so shove or fold, imo. Against a tight player, even though he's got a shortstack, I just fold to the 3bet, especially since our FE here should be 0% since he looks like he's committed himself (AK works best preflop with FE).

As played, don't think I can fold the flop at this point.

If he is this tight, I could see myself folding pre with a UTG open.
3/4 cards he has AA, KK, QQ - we lose
AK we split.
I could see myself folding after reviewing, but in person I would've probably called.

JPDyanasty, you wrote exactly what I felt after the hand. If AA, KK, QQ and AK, was his range, and I was OOP with AK, I should have folded the flop even though his stack was small. "But in person, I called."

Thanks for everyone's input.

Shove or fold pre.

If he's an OMC, then I would just fold pre.
