2/5 NL

Hero in CO with A4ss ($500)

Straddle on, 7 handed

UTG ($500) calls
Hero raises to $40
UTG calls

Flop ($80):
Q83scc

Both check

Turn ($80):
2s

UTG bets $25
Hero ???

Villain hasn't gotten very out of line, but does not 3bet or raise on any street whatsoever. He isn't necessarily a nit, but he seems to only continue with made hands.

This small turn bet is strange and I don't see him connecting with much of this board. However, as mentioned before, he only bets when he has something. Is this a spot to raise or just play passively to the river?

I'd raise to at least $50 pre.

I would definitely bet flop $25-$30.

Given how small he bet, how transparent sizings tend to be at LLSNL, and the fact that we only have A high, I would raise to $80 here.

If the straddle is $10, $40 is fine. $50 is OK, too, but not necessary depending on opponents, of course.

Bet the flop. Now that you are here, call and see a river vs. this guy unless he will fold any pair. If he will fold AQ or similar, raise him to $90 - $125.

I mean, a tightish player limp/calling UTG is a little scary. Probably just flat and see a "free" river.

Not raising this pre with the straddle on. We’re 50BBs effective to start the hand and that drastically reduces our maneuverability.

AP good flop to c-bet HU

AP I’d raise and fire lots of rivers if V just calls and checks to us.

Flatting IP for this price seems okay as well.

imo
