This is more of theoretical question rather than a specific hand analysis.

Typical 1-2 midday game with basic assortment of loose-passives and weak-tight ABC players.

You check in the BB with Q3o...6 players see the flop:

Q75 with two of the same suit...you check...third player to act bets, one other player calls, you...?

Does your response change if we had A3o on a A75 board?

Generally I'm just going to x/fold flop. Even in the event that we have the best hand, it's just way too hard to reach showdown OOP. And when there's 6 players to the flop, someone has fired a bet and someone has called, there's a good chance that one of them already has top pair mediocre kicker.

I think you could fold more Q's than Q3 here given bet and call in front of you, need a good kicker or backdoor draws to continue here imo

In a 6-player pot, I'd fold both hands.

My default is to fold, but it feels like I've seen a number of hands recently where the turn and then river get checked around, and middle pair ends up beating busted draw.

Sure, but if you call, there's going to be times when someone bets again and you have to fold. Some of those times you will feel stupid for calling the flop bet and some times you will fold the best hand if the guy is aggro enough to bet twice with a draw.

Other times it will check around like you said and youre going to lose a good percentage of those also to outdraws. Its just not worth calling OOP with a hand like this that you cant have any confidence in and youre forced to play like a passive fish. Overall I think its a -EV call.

I'd fold both times OOP 20-ways to the flop, you're going to underrealize equity OOP and you have no kicker.

Probably call with A3 and fold Q3
