Hero ($375): 30s white guy. Have been sitting at the table for an hour or so and probably appear as a little laggy. I've been opening a lot in BU, HJ, CO and punishing the passive, fit or fold limpers. No huge hands shown down.

Villain (covers): 30s black guy. raising the top 10% of hands and limp calling the remaining 40(ish)%. Sticky with top pair and big draws. Haven't seen him show down a lot, and I don't believe a semi bluff likely in the hand below excepting all but the largest draws.

folds around to V in the CO who limps. H raises to $15 OTB with QJ. blinds fold, V calls.

Pot: $33
Board: QJT

Villain open shoves for $360 effective. Hero?

is this 1/2, 1/3 or 2/5?

We have about 20% equity vs a straight (he would have the lower end most likely rather than AK which should discount some combos). We beat top and bottom and we beat bottom two and draws. I wouldn't fold too easy for about 100 big blinds eff and why would he try to fold you out if he flopped a straight?

Sorry, this is 1/2.

Folding pretty easily here. I would consider it a pretty massive mistake to call this off and go broke to a straight or flopped set if he happens to have that. Its like 30 bucks in the pot on a board where we have far from the nutz.

If this is a player as described, wich OP doesent believe does this kind of overbet with a semibluff i guess you have answered your own question.

We have a small equity edge against the big combodraws, but we are close to dead when we are indeed behind.

Easy fold, absent more detailed reads on villain being capable of shovelling for 10x pot with a wide range.

Because players like yourself will level themself into considering calling off almost 200 blinds into a baby pot with two pair?

I am not advocating doing this play with the nutz, but one reason why i see people do it its quite obvious. People is going broke with hands they simply shoudnt against huge overshoves like this.

True but not for 200 big blinds and there are also players who will overbet to protect. I see the title was edited to be 180bb's eff.

OTF our MDF is about 8%. Think the worst hand i’d consider calling is 1010, obv calling AK and our 98s isos. We can probably fold here and wont be a huge mistake ever, but i think calling off here at 100% freq against people who lol 11x overshove flop can become an expensive mistakes if our ranging/thought process is wrong

Plus we have all AK here, i think people would be very wary of that and not open shove 11x pot with ******ed hands as often than say 765ss (athough that is also pretty dam rare)

V is clearly a fish. I would fold and wait for a better spot or have a better read against this guy. I really feel like this a big draw but its too close of a spot to risk it. I've seen too many fish spazz out when they flop gin and are up against the PF raiser, thinking they will get called by AA or KK.

I was in a hand a week ago where V open shoved from the SB for $250 into $20 in a $1/2 game with 67o on a 345r flop, got snap called by a limped KK and declared “I didn’t want anyone riveting a flush on me”. Fish do fishy things. aP fold.
