Flopped set, quick line and bet sizing check Flopped set, quick line and bet sizing check

1/2 300 cap

Hero mid 40 hippie, good winning image this session playing basic TAG. Player to my right has given me nickname of sensei, telling table often to be careful of me (kinda weird)

V1 mid 40 black gent. Quiet. Likes to limp call. Will donk with weak holdings frequently. Haven't seen any big moves.

V2 late 20 Hoodie wearing that arrived from a broken table an hour ago. Sitting on my left. Playing game on his phone, but also social. Talking about Jamie Gold making final table day before, talking strategy with player to his left that came from same broken table. Obviously only other real thinking player at the table.

Hero (~600) limps 7,7 in middle position after a couple of limpers
V2 (~275) raises to 10
V1 (~425) BB flats
Random field limpers flats
Hero flats
Flop (41) Qc, 10d, 7c
V1 donks 25
Hero raise 65
V2 thinks a long time and calls
V1 calls
Turn (235)
5h
V1 check
Hero bet 150

Leaving it here for now.

Thoughts on all action, bet sizes etc. Greatly appreciated .

I like the line so far.

I started to second guess your turn bet saying "wouldn't $100 be better? Don't they know we are pricing then out with $150?" Then I remembered not to be worried about pricing villains out of their draws because they call anyway.

V2 behind us can certainly have TT, QQ. He can also have combo flush/Broadway draws and maaaaybe QT.

Not too worried about V1. His donk usually means a draw (all of which have missed the turn) or a weak pair. He can also have some QT in his range. It's nice when the guy we are more worried about has a smaller stack while the guy we want to build a huge pot with has a bigger stack.

Honestly I can't think of any way I'd play this hand differently so far.

Seems fine. I might do things differently if V2 was deeper.

So 81 instead of 65? Hoping for the draws to call or fold?

Results.... are not exciting.

V2 tanks for a very long time, says he thinks he was supposed to shove flop or turn in this spot and then folds.

V1 folds quickly and Hero gets no more value.

V2 talks to himself about the hand off and on for a looong time. Says he had a pair and a flush draw. Trying to get me to tell him my hand. Says he puts me on Q7, 77, Q10, or Jc,9c. I ask him if thinks I would limp call Q7 pre flop. Shouldn't have said anything but it was interesting hearing him clearly articulate his thought process.

V1 claims to have been open ended.

V2 must have had Kc10c. Raise pre combined with giving me Jc,9c in my range but not Jc,Kc means he must have held Kc to remove it from my range.

V1 J,9 or more likely K,J since he called pre flop raise.

So probably a lower content thread. Was interested in hearing opinions on bet sizing as I wondered if more value was possible to be had.

I like the line.

You could have made the turn bet smaller. $100 even.

I might go a bit more on the flop. 85 would be only 2/3 pot raise and I would expect draws are still calling. Disguises our hand better and get the money in the pot.

Turn is perfectamundo.

I like limping 77 there pre although sometimes I will also raise with it.

Flop - I normally raise a bit bigger around 90-105. But the stacks are small enough that you can win them without a standard raise here. So +1 to the low raise to string them along.

Turn - V1 has 350 remaining and V2 has 200. If we bet smaller than we normally would we set ourselves up for a nice river shove. Maybe like $115-$125 instead of $150 hoping to get both of them to call.
