Just played an absolutely sick hand at 2/5 with $17 button straddle. Effective stacks are 2k. one limp from mp, cutoff limps, I call with 4d4c BB limps and button checks action. This is a button straddle specific to this homegame where it doesn't make SB first to act. The button straddler is an absolute whale and we're looking to make sure he's in the pot . Villan seems to be a good player, said to have been a reg at one of the casinos nearby

Flop: A84sss ($85)
We bet $60, folds to v in co who raises to $150 folds back to hero who calls.

Im really inexperienced with stacks these deep and not sure if I should have re raised.

Turn 6d ($385)we check, v bets $300 we call

River 9h ($985)
Hero ?
Looking for advice on every street.

I actually like flop and turn.

It seems nitty, but I'm probably check/calling most reasonable bets on the river. Too strong to b/f, don't really want to stack off here. Certainly you should be ahead of range at this point but bottom set with mono-tone flop and 2 possible straight draws coming home I'm not trying to be a hero. If V bets less than ~$750 I think you're calling. If he goes full PSB or more I'm not loving it.

Flop is good, turn might well be a fold already? I'd definitely check/fold this river.

You have six possible sets getting to river with your line, and probably a similar amount of flushes (maybe more, maybe less). Most likely, you’ll want to release your two pairs before river, and you shouldn’t be trying to draw with naked Ks. 44 is therefore going to be somewhere around the bottom 25% of your range. So if you don’t really know what to do on river in terms of V tendencies, I think you can comfortably fold river to any reasonable sized bet. And consider folding turn.

Except for pre, which I would raise, flop and turn are good imho. I'd C/F river. This deep in an un-raised straddled pot, there are many flush combos taking this line. If he has A8, I'd expect a check back.

I'm not folding and neither did you.

Flop and turn are both standard. River is a x/fold. We have plenty of baby flushes in our range that can x/call river. Villain has no value hands that we beat (2pr is never betting river here), so we'd be calling just on the hopes that he has the naked Ks.

I think that your action through each street here makes sense and may be the better line to take.

I can't imagine folding rivers here. People are suggesting chk/folding but I think most bets here are just calls you have to make. He could bet 2 pair for value which may be his most likely strongest holding (that isn't a flush). A fold isn't terrible I guess, but even if hes a solid player, your line is super passive here so he may be v-betting something like A8s.

A bet from him on the river does look strong but I think in many situations, a call is ok.

Yeah, turn seems like a fold in a limped pot when facing a ~PSB. This is a flush almost always. A8s would bet smaller in fear of the flush and KsX isn't going bonkers in a limped pot.
