People criticized your flop sizing because most 1/2 players are atrocious when it comes to bet sizing and only view bets in terms of absolute dollar value.
Your sizing is fine in theory as it compares to the size of the pot, but a large portion of the player pool is only going to see a $100 bet as opposed to a 1/2 psb, 2/3 psb, etc. If that's how this table views bet sizing, then your V is probably folding most of his range when he doesn't have a set. I'll adjust my bet sizing sometimes when I know I'm at a table with players that think this way, but I'm not going to fall into the trap of betting terribly small just because that's what deemed to be "standard" at a table.
