Just hoping to put a thread up that other 2-100 players can add to and discuss interesting hands and players.

I'm UTG at a 6 handed table its after 1 am and the majority of the bad players are in bed while the degen regs and local nits are battling.

I am dealt AJ with 350 behind and I make my standard utg raise to 10 instead of my regular 8 -
Folds around to the button who is middle age Asian guy thinking player and on the tighter side without any bluffs shown after an hour of play. He has about 270 in his stack - He calls and we go to a flop.

AJ2 r

I cbet to 14
Button thinks for a second and quickly makes it 64

Hero??

What hands can he have here?

A2 AJ J2. 22 JJ AA 34 54 10q 10k kq ak aq so??

Is this a fold and what the hell does he have ?

We can discuss the hand posted, but we don't do running threads with a bunch of disparate hands (with the exception of the "not quite threadworthy" thread), so let's just limit it to this hand, and you can start another thread to post each interesting hand you come across.

Also, please don't post results (not just what gets shown down, but what action you take), as it biases responses. I edited that out and won't comment since I've seen them.

Ok thanks can we make a thread to talk about 2-100 only or possibly a strategy thread?

You can revive one of the "what's the difference between 1/2NL and 1/2-100SL" threads if you want, but since the general consensus is "not much unless it gets really deep," I don't think there's much point to it.

Never ever folding.

Call the flop raise, and c/shove the turn.

The majority of vil's range would include AJ, A2s, AK, AQ, 22, JJ. You can throw in some other bs gutshot draws and weaker Ax if you like. You're ahead most of this stuff, so I'd call and let him bet again on the turn, then c/r the max.

The only turn cards I consider folding are K and Q, because he should be scared of them, but even then you could imagine vil saying "well, I picked up a gutshot/bluffing opportunity"

Shove all-in. There's nothing you can waste time figuring out. It doesn't matter when you have a big hand and villain got the last raise OTF. You shove and that's the only correct play. Don't try to slice it in pieces to nail villain hand because there's no need for. Why you care what he's got when he raised you OTF when you got T2P?

You said, "What hands can he have here?"
I say: Why you care? and What better than T2P you want?

You said, "A2 AJ J2. 22 JJ AA 34 54 10q 10k kq ak aq so??"
I say: Haw can he have A2, J2, 22, 34, 54, 10Q, 10K in a raised pot?
and I say some more: How come he didn't 3! pre with JJ, AA, AK or AQ ? - what the hell is your reading .. man?

You said, " Is this a fold and what the hell does he have ?....., ."
I say: What the hell are you talking about? ..., re-raise, ya gotta re-raise him! The absolute BEST scenario for your T2P is playing for stacks. Don't count on him having a Set because for sure he can't beat T2P. Screw his raise. Re-Raise and get committed. Take his money.

pouring some liquor on the floor for the great outdonked in what appears to be the last thread he contributed in

easy flat OP. you ask what hands he can have and provide a in my estimation reasonable range of hands he could play this way, and you are ahead of said range. you don´t wanna 3bet the flop to isolate yourself vs the parts of his range that have you crushed and get him to fold all weaker parts, so just flat, let him commit himself ott and c/shove.

also, in regards to your reads, you only played with the guy for an hour, he could easily have some % of total air in his range. and a "thinking player" would usually not take the line he took regardless of his holding.

Unlikely to be up against JJ or AA - there is only one combo left of each, combined with fact that your opponent limped makes AA especially much less likely. It depends on whether 22 is in his preflop calling range - if you are pretty sure you are not up against JJ or 22, then I would max raise here. My thinking is you could be up against something like AQ, AT, or A2 (leaning more toward A2).

Essentially the same line happened to me last year playing 1-3. $400 effective stacks.

Two limpers and one thinking player in MP flat the $3 pre flop, I make it $25 with AQo and all three call. ($100)

Flop is AQ4 rainbow, checked to me, I make it $50 to go. Only Thinking Player calls. ($200)

Turn is an 8 that completes the rainbow, Thinking Player donks $100.

"What the hell does he have?"

Turns out he had 57 suited.

Top two on the flop is about the best you can reasonably expect with two broadways.

Doesn't guarantee a win but if we don't play flopped top two, why are we there?
