Hero, after thinking for a couple minutes, comes to the conclusion, eff this guy and his obvious draw, "All-in". Everyone folds to V2 who thinks for a minute shows 54ss and folds.

Meh. I like my play if I've got an overpair but not top set. Will play it differently next time.

I think shove is bad here. Because if V is thinking at all it means you have what you have or AKss/AQss. He's actually a worse dog against AKss than JJ.

Its pretty clear like others have said the blocking bet was a flush draw, best raise it to $150ish. We have position so we are only really in a bad spot if the flush hits the turn and he doesnt go for the check raise and just bombs it.

yeah shove is really bad here esp. since his hand is practically face up and we have position. so yeah we can call with implied odds if he leads out a spade turn and if not we can just jam the turn. 195 raise on flop he calls so that would put 565 in pot on turn. then a jam is ~pot sized bet. if spade turns i can fold if he jams or call to boat up if he bets small enough and check it back if he checks.

Just asking because I'm curious, but would a minraise be an option?

How would that be perceived?

Unless villain is ******ed, he flats. Problems with minraising are a) we allow villain to play perfectly by offering great odds to call and b) we have the nuts and the goal in NLHE is to get stacks in when we have the nuts which we don’t do with tiny bets.

I was more thinking about using the minraise to bring the two players behind into the hand rather than the V in this case.

A raise is a raise though, I don’t think a min raise is much likelier to bring in the other players because they don’t close the action and a minraise is often the nuts anyway.

Thanks WeerBeer. Minraises do look suspect huh.

So you raised to $515 over his $45 bet? What the f...

Also don't take a few minutes to make this decision it's an action killer.
